THE TRUE CHAMPIONS!

Cowley B 1 - 2 Sembhy Jaguars

Sembhy Jaguars finished the season with an away win, in this highly entertaining battle for second place.

Cowley B were quickest out of the blocks with their pacey strikers putting pressure on the Jaguars defence from the off, bet yet again the Sembhy defence coped and the play soon turned in the Jaguars favour, after some lovely link up play between C Gerada & R Dimech, R Dimech curled in a perfect cross for A Carey to superbly volley home.

The lead was short lived as another perfect cross was whipped in and the Cowley forward headed an unstoppable effort at goal to make it all square at half time.

The second half could have gone either way, and the nerves were setting in as a goal didn’t look like it was coming, meaning Sembhy would finish in third place, but with luck on their side the Cowley defence made a mistake which aloud R Dimech in to slot home his easiest goal of the season, and gave the Jaguars all three points seeing them finish in second place in the league, but we all know we are the TRUE CHAMPIONS.

All the boys should be proud of what they have achieved this season and be looking forward to better things next season.

Also a mention to the coaches Gary Gerada and Lawrence Dimech, who put in a lot of time and effort to make this season such a success.

Birthday Boy Strikes Again!

Sembhy Jaguars 1 - 0 Sprint

Another excellent defensive performance from centre back & Man of the match L Mead, saw Sembhy hold on to a first half goal for the second game in a row.

The jaguars goal came from birthday boy R Dimech and was his 15^th goal of the season.

The match was dominated by both teams defences as chances were few, Sembhy dominated the first half, but was yet again pinned back in the second half as Sprint pushed on for an equaliser, but yet again the Sembhy defence was rock solid and constantly coped under the onslaught from Sprint’s hard working forward.

This result sees the Jaguars finish the season undefeated at home in the league.

Dagenham D 0 - 1 Sembhy Jaguars

An excellent defensive performance from centre back L Mead, saw Sembhy hold on to a first half goal.

The jaguars goal came after some good work down the left from R Dimech and his cross was bundled home from close range by A Carey.

Half time changes saw Sembhy under constant pressure for most of the second half, with chance after chance superbly dealt with by the defence.

Goalkeeper D Hurley pulled off an excellent save from a long range volley, but was otherwise unemployed as his defence constantly cleared there lines.

Unlucky For Some

Baronsmere 3 - 1 Sembhy Jaguars

13 proved to be unlucky for Sembhy Jaguars as there unbeaten run come to an end today at the 13^th attempt.

R Dimech had put the Jaguars 1-0 up early on and Sembhy seemed to be cruising to another victory and continuing there amazing run, but the highs were short lived as the defence put in a terrible second half display and Baronsmere took advantage of several defensive mistakes.

Sembhy Goalkeeper D Hurley pulled off some heroic saves in the first half to keep the score at 1-0 but his shaky defence let him down in the second half and Baronsmere levelled the scores, a mistake by the keeper after some poor defending made it 2-1 to Baronsmere, and as Sembhy pushed up to look for an equaliser late on in the game Baronsmere caught them out and made it 3-1 and game over.
